Richard Day created his first CE Class, Renovation Financing, in 1993 in Baltimore. The classroom held 75 attendees, but 103 came to the class. The extras stood for 3 hours while he nervously taught for the first time. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Since then he has taught that class and a couple of others over 50 times in 5 states and DC.
Richard can fund a full menu of mortgage and other financing products, but prefers to stay in the renovation lending sandbox, as saving old houses is a passion of his. Houses as young as 1 year can benefit from renovation lending, but the really old houses are the most exciting to lend on. He gets excited structuring financing for an old Victorian, Arts and Crafts bungalow or a Mid-Century Modern house more than anything.
When not teaching or originating mortgages, he spends time with his girlfriend at her beach house in the OBX. Also, time spent with his two sons, Liam and Luke, now grown, is always a blast. His favorite sport is squash, which he plays as often as possible; is a serial audiophile with an online playlist exceeding 10,000 songs; and rides his BMW motorcycle at every opportunity. If you send him business, there's a good chance he'll give you a jar of his homemade salsa!
